training requirements
The state of North Carolina requires that new potential agency owners, managers and administrators partake in a mandatory one-day training course. This training covers all of the statutes, rules and regulations concerning home care agencies that are governed by the Division of Health Services Regulation (DHSR).
Per the DHSR:
"If an applicant cannot demonstrate to the Division of Facility Services that he or she has ever owned or operated a home care agency prior to submission of the application, the Division shall not issue a license until the applicant has received training approved by the Division which shall include in the requirements for licensure, the licensure process, and the rules pertaining to the operation of a home care agency."
